Account Planning Feature

Hello Community,

I am currently exploring the capabilities of the Sales Accelerator feature and wanted to check if it supports account planning functionalities. Specifically, I am looking for the ability to plan sales activities for an account, such as scheduling a future sale with estimated revenue and due date. For example, planning to sell AI solutions to Company X in July 2025 and another product in August with an estimated revenue and a specific due date.

If anyone has experience with this feature or knows whether it supports such account planning capabilities, your insights would be greatly appreciated. If this functionality does not exist, we may need to consider customization options.

Thank you in advance for your assistance!

Best regards,
EBMRay

Good morning, afternoon, or evening depending on your location!

The Sales Accelerator is designed to streamline sales processes by prioritizing activities and providing intelligent recommendations. However, it does not natively support detailed account planning functionalities, such as scheduling future sales activities with estimated revenue and due dates, as described in your example.
For your specific needs, there are a couple of options to consider:
    • Customization: Dynamics 365 allows for customizations to tailor the system to your requirements. We could explore creating custom entities or workflows to enable account planning features.
    • Third-Party Solutions: There are third-party tools and add-ons that integrate with Dynamics 365 to provide advanced account planning capabilities.
    • Power Platform: Leveraging Power Apps and Power Automate, we can build a solution to manage account planning seamlessly within your Dynamics environment.

    Hope this is helpful :)

Account Planning can be an easy configuration
    1) Do you have the fields you need to track your plan? This might include adding a few more fields or adding existing fields to your forms.
    2) To plan future activities generally involves the activity tables. These activities can be scheduled for future action or can be aligned using automatic creation through a number of different options from AI to Acceleration.
    3) When do you review your plan?
    4) Is the plan something that is internal only or is it something that the sales team or team member meets with their customers on.
    5) Do you need to "print" your plan or do you want to review it on a dashboard, chart or another tool such as an Export to Excel or a merge into a Word Document?

There are many choices for doing Account Planning and most align to straight out of the box configuration, customization or if you want to get really fancy extensions.

    Cheers Anne
