New field added to CustTable (String or binary data would be truncated)

Hi

I have added a new text field to CustTable. The field has a EDT with MEMO as strings size.

The field is also added to the CustTable Form.

When I write a string longer than 10 characters, I get this error: String or binary data would be truncated

But when the string size is less than 10 character, it updates the field.

 

is MEMO not an unlimited size?

    Dear Mahyar.

    If you want to use Maximum String size why don't you extend your EDT from MaximumString?

    Here it's a brief description of MaximumString :

    Hi Maher,

    I faced this issue once. Can you confirm the steps as shown below.

    1. Added a string field in table and set ExetndedDataType = Notes. Strng size will be set to Memo

    2. Right click on table and sync it

    It is still working for me. You can also have a look on DocuRef Table for your reference there we have Notes field.
