    Hi

For the above requirement you can able to delete the Financial dimension below are the steps.

    1. First check which dimension you need to delete, let us example "Customer" .

    2. Go to AOT-->DataDictionary-->Tables-->DimensionAttributes

    3. Check for the Financial dimension attribute "Customer" and select the RecId of that line.

    4. Copy the above table RecId

    5. Go to DimensionAttributesSetItem Table and open the table.

    6. In Dimension attribute field filter with the above table recid.

    7. Delete a record in DimensionAttributesSetItem table.

    Hi,

In fact, for this case the record(s) that are blocking the delete are in DimensionAttributeSetItem or DimensionAttributeValueSetItem.

Yesterday I checked the validation method but made a mistake with another validation that throws an error with a similar message.

I still have to find out whether we can functionally delete these records or not. I'll let you know if I do.

    Regards,

    Dear Ali Zaidi,

    thanks for you reply.

As I understand there is no way to cleanup unused Financial Dimensions expect to do this directly in the database...

Once I faced this issue, this occurs when system find record/entry within the DimensionAttributeLevelValue table for that Dimension Value. There are many possibilities why record created in DimensionAttributeLevelValue table. One of the scenario I found that when user creates a new general Entry and select dimensions on that line. At that stage system creates a new entry in DimensionAttributeValueCombination for the financial dimension combination specified on the general journal line. The make-up of the specified financial dimension combination is then stored in the DimensionAttributeLevelValue table. The journal entry is posted or not posted , entry in DimensionAttributeValueCombination must be created by System.

To resolve this, and allow the Dimension Value to be deleted, the records created in the

    • DimensionAttributeLevelValue

    • DimensionAttributeValueCombination

tables would need to be manually deleted.
