I have got a mismatch in the number sequences you see below. It seems that the "next" number is not being updated as you can see in the screenshots for the voucher transactions and the number sequence setup:
As you can see the next number should be 60 not 47.
I have tried a manual clean up of the sequence but it seems that it doesn't do anything. I know I could manually change the 47 to 60 but I would like to understand why does this happen and why the manual clean up is not working.
Thanks!
Hi
Although, you can fix the issue manually, sharing the steps for your understanding purpose.
Important: Continuous number sequences are not recommended by Microsoft Due to performance issues.
Hi CapsLock,
The cleanup is a job specific for number sequences set to be continuous. Your number sequence is not continuous. Nevertheless, the cleanup job is never updating the Next value. It is only considering records in the status list for continuous number sequences.
Are you sure this is the correct number sequence for the the depreciation voucher numbers for this legal entity? There can be multiple number sequences with a different company scope or there can be multiple number sequences with the same format (FADP######).
PS: Usually voucher number do have the requirement to be setup as continuous. I would suggest to enable it as you otherwise might get gaps when you delete journal lines.
