After you have restored the demo databases, have you updated with the valid admin SID account information? Obviously, you need to map it to your network user account as AX admin in order to login to AX successfully.

This link might be your reference, read the section where it explained on how to update the SID in your AX2012R2 business database

I've followed the steps but could not be succeeded. My domain name is contoso and my user name is administrator and i mapped the same but still there is no good luck.

Why did you create one database manually (and restored demo data there) and one as part of AX installation? Which one do you use for AX? You should be added automatically as AX user only in the one created by the installer.

then what should i be doing? how can i have demo data then? I am preparing for Finance & T/L.

I take it as the answer that you use the manually created database. Then you need to add details for your account to UserInfo table, as suggested by Tony Wan. Maybe you didn't do that right. There may be also a problem with your newly created domain - check event log, maybe you'll find more info there.

If you just need it to prepare for an exam, can't you simply get the ready-to-use virtual machine prepared by Microsoft? (I don't know what's your relation with Microsoft.)

I don't have access to Microsoft Resources because I don't belong to Microsoft Partner network.

I have tried to restore the data bothway.

    1. db installation with ax installation and then restored the database

    2. manual db and added my user info but still no good luck

In your step 2, basically you should amend the existing admin user account record in userinfo table. Change the SID value (you can get your SID using the psgetsid.exe, search with google) and map to your domain user account. In addition, update the domain user account and domain name. Lastly, launch AX and that should now authenticate using your domain account against your existing network AD.

    Hi,

In the system administration->common forms-> Users. There is a check box called enabled. Ensure that it is checked.
