Insights into custom channels

Hi 

Have a client using custom channels in outbound marketing for push and sms . I note with custom channel you cannot say if sms is received or clicked on then do this same is true of the push notification channel. 

Yet you can do if email is open clicked etc. if somebody is using push and sms should we be moving them to real time marketing and if so is there any downside from moving to outbound to real time 

I note you do get in real time when an sms is received or opened.

I assume with realtime you get analytics also and I assume with custom channels its not as easy???

    Hi partner,

    You are right, moving to real-time marketing seems like a good idea. you can check this post; it explains in detail for real-time marketing and outbound marketing. Custom channels are also available in real-time marketing.

    As Real-time marketing continues to evolve, almost all the current capabilities and features of Outbound marketing will become available in Real-time marketing, along with many more modern and enhanced capabilities. You should utilise Real-Time marketing unless there is a dependency on a specific feature or limitation that has not yet been addressed in Real-time marketing.  

    Despite Microsoft's responsibility to keep supporting Outbound marketing from a product perspective, all future enhancements & investments will target the Real-time marketing space.
