Hi Everyone,

Interest calculating double,  if the payment and reversal both were done after the due date(after the grace period)

Below is the sample

Account   number Invoice Amount Invoice date due date
CUS00001 INV-241426           47.52 07/07/2017 21/07/2017

The Settlement date[Payment done through Payment journal] is : 29/07/2017
Payment Reversed date : 30/07/2017

[1. Closed transaction editing > Select invoice > reverse.    and 2. Customer Transactions > select payment line(-ve amount)> click on Reverse transaction]

When I am trying to generate interest note with the following parameters, the interest note generated with double interest amount

Actual value    : Origin = 95.04  ; Amount of interest = 0.96

Expected value: Origin = 47.52 ; Amount of interest = 0.48

Please note that the AR parameters setup for interest calculation is: "Open and closed"

Interest percentage: Monthly,  1%

Grace period setup as 6

I would like to know, is the expected value correct or not? If yes, why system calculating double interest amount.

Kindly help on this.

Regards,

Bhavya

    Hi Bhavya,

Can you test if the interest calculation changes if you change the AR parameter to open only?

    Best regards,

    Hi Ludwig,

    Thanks for your quick response.

If I select interest calculation in AR setup as open, then the interest will not be calculated for the receipts which are received after due date.

As per our customer business process, the interest need to be calculated on the late payments as well, this is why we configured the  AR setup interest calculation as "Open and closed".

In our case, the interest is calculated twice if there is any reversal for the settled invoice..

Is there any hot fix for this?

    Regards,

    Bhavya

    Hi Bhavya,

Unfortunately, I have not found a fix for this on LCS. As you are on AX2009 it is unlikely that MS Will come up with one. As a result, you are own your own fixing this with the help of a developer.

    Best regards,

    Ludwig

    Hello Bhavya,

    Thanks for your clarification.

There seem to be a lot of Hotfixes available for AX2012RTM for issues with interest notes and calculations.

You can check and download them yourself if you follow the next link
