SL2018 CU5 Invoice Print BI.INV.00 Issues

Having several issues with Invoice Print (BI.INV.00) in Dynamics-SL 2018 CU5.

Invoice Print (BI.INV.00)
SL2018 CU5 on Windows 10 Client Fully patched/updated as of 04/01/2021
SQL 2019 Server Version 15.0.2080.9
Application databases Compatibility Level SQL Server 2014 (120)

First Issue - Reprint:
Unable to reprint previously printed and posted Invoices.  Important, our invoice numbers are less than 10 characters and currently has a leading 0 (total of 6 digits).  When selecting the Invoice range to reprint and clicking on the “Print Invoices” button, results in PC Message Number 0153 to display with the text “Print 0 Invoice(s) / Draft(s)?”

If instead of selecting the invoice number, I select the draft number, it will print without issue.

Second Issue - Reprint:

Unable to reprint a range of previously printed and posted Invoices.  If I select a range of draft numbers, only the first draft number will print.  If I select a range of invoice numbers, then nothing prints.

Third Issue – Reprint:

When selecting the option “Print to Directory”, the generated filename ends with the extension of “.doc” implying that it is a Microsoft Word Document.  I am unable to open this document with Microsoft word.  If I change the extension of this document from “.doc” to “.pdf”, it displays correctly as a PDF document.

Enhancement Request:  Have a Billing Setup Option or a Control Parameter Maintenance setting were we can specify the desired document type we would like created when using the “Print to Directory” option.

Fourth Issue:

The option “Print to File” is never available.  Under what conditions is the “Print to File” Option visible and available?

Thank you.

    Hello,

    First Issue - Reprint:

Unable to reprint previously printed and posted Invoices.  Important, our invoice numbers are less than 10 characters and currently has a leading 0 (total of 6 digits).  When selecting the Invoice range to reprint and clicking on the “Print Invoices” button, results in PC Message Number 0153 to display with the text “Print 0 Invoice(s) / Draft(s)?”

If instead of selecting the invoice number, I select the draft number, it will print without issue.

This is a bug, you'll have to create a case with support to get the fix.

    Second Issue - Reprint:

Unable to reprint a range of previously printed and posted Invoices.  If I select a range of draft numbers, only the first draft number will print.  If I select a range of invoice numbers, then nothing prints.

Not been reported as a bug.

Reported as a bug, not fixed. But the workaround is as Mark E stated.

    Fourth Issue:

The option “Print to File” is never available.  Under what conditions is the “Print to File” Option visible and available?

It's not been reported as a bug, but with the print to directory actually doing the same thing, it probably is by design.

    Best Regards,

    Jana MacDonald

    RE: SL2018 CU5 Invoice Print BI.INV.00 Issues

On your third issue, I submitted this to MS Jan 2021 and it was confirmed as a defect (with no fix at the time).  The resolution was to simply change the .doc extension to .pdf and you can open/read it, or do a subsequent reprint of the invoice (w/out closing the screen).  I have not checked back with MS on the status of the fix.
