Different Quantities between item and warehouse ledger entries

Hi,

We have an issue where the inventory on the item card says 160 but if we take a look at the bin-content it's all at zero.

I've done an anaylsis and noticed that the sum of all warehouse  ledger entry quantities is zero but the sum of all item legdger entries is 160.
When I run the "calculate warehouse adjustment..." no lines appear.

I'm at a loss of how to trouble shoot further what the cause and the correct solution for this is.

Does the difference mean that there was a warehouse entry without a corresponding item entry? Or a mismatch in quanties?

Any feedback is much appreciated. Thank you in advance

Did you not enter the Bin when posting the details? If so, this will only generate Item Ledger Entries, not warehouse entries.

    Hope this helps.
    Thanks.

Most likely this means a warehouse entry posted without an item ledger entry and an additional incorrect posting on the adjustment bin. Warehouse entry without a corresponding item ledger entry is a normal situation. This is why we need the "Calculate warehouse adjustment" job - it is intended to reconcile the warehouse with the inventory.

"Calculate warehouse adjustment" calculates the quantity in the location's adjustment bin, and if this quantity is 0, then the warehouse stock is considered to be reconciled with the inventory. But there are loopholes that allow to post an entry from the warehouse journal directly to the adjustment bin, thus disrupting the warehouse adjustment.

Take a look at this discussion: this is the same situation, and essentially this is what you need to do to fix the discrepancy.
