Currency Exchange Rate

Hi Everyone,

Version - AX 2012 CU 13

I have an issue with Import currency exchange rate in ax. Everyday batch is running to import the currency exchange rate into the system.

While importing rate, yesterday's currency rate is saving in today's date.

Provider -- Central Bank of Europe

For e.g:

1. Date = 10/9/2019 - currency="USD" rate="1.103" -----> Actual data but AX storing data like given below

2. Date = 10/10/2019 - currency="USD" rate="1.103.

What could be the reason for this issue? How to resolve this issue ?

When we have checked the same with CU8, there is no issue.

Thanks and Regards,

Vignesh

    Hi Ludwig,

I'm glad to see your suggestion here.

I will try to update the exchange rate at 16:05 pm in AX ERP and I will check whether the system is taking correct date or not.

    Regards,

    Vignesh

    Hi Vignesh,

I think that you run a bit into a difficult issue for which no good solution other than using a different exchange rate provider is available in my opinion. The problem with the ECB rates is that they are currently published 16:00 every day. Please see: www.ecb.europa.eu/.../index.en.html

If your import job runs in the morning then you get the 'wrong' old rates from the day before.

On the other hand side, if you run the import at 16:05 you get the correct rates but orders that have been processed in the morning still got the rates from the previous day.

This is something I would recommend you discussing with your accounting team to identify what they want to have. If they want to have up to date rates then you need a different exchange rate provider that publishes data earlier than the ECB.

If they want to have official rates from the ECB then you have to define when and how you run the import job and you might have to accept that orders that are entered in the morning have a 'wrong' rate from the previous date.

    Best regards,

    Ludwig

    Hi Sourav,

Thanks for your input! Yes I am selecting Today's date while importing the exchange rate in ax.

Meanwhile I will check with developer also. Let wait for others to contribute their input here.

    Thanks in advance and regards,

    Hi Vignesh R ,

I believe, you have already selected Today's date in import currency exchange rates form while pulling rates in ERP.

However; can you please check with the developer if the API is responding properly for this action. Also, please check if this is happening for any time zone difference in system or not.

Else; let's wait for other members in this community to share their input on this.

    Best regards,

    Hi Sourav,

If i import the exchange rate using "import currency exchange rate" form without batch, I am getting the same issue. Yesterday's exchange rate is storing in today's date in system.

    Kindly help here.

    Thanks in advance and Regards,

    RE: Currency Exchange Rate

    Hi Vignesh R ,

You have to check how frequently the batch is set to push exchange rate in ERP and if the batch run date is set properly to fetch exchange rate on daily basis or not.

    Best regards,
    Sourav Dam
