Publish button disabled for Adjusted Demand Forecast when Opened in Excel

Hi,

We need to create a demand forecast in the latest version on Dynamics AX (AX7). We need to export the forecast, make changes and publish it back to AX. In this process, we try to open the Adjusted Demand Forecast (Master Planning> Forecasting>Demand Forecasting) in excel. To our dismay we find the Publish button to be disabled. This is not the case for data exported from any other entity like Customers, Vendors etc.  What is different with Demand Forecast data? How can we publish the changes back to AX? Any help would be greatly appreciated.
