If I delete retired Positions, will that affect any historical data?

I have several Positions that have been retired and would like to remove them from the Standard View list.

If I delete the retired Positions, will that affect any historical data that is related to the Position?

Or is there a way to setup a custom view that will simply not list retired Positions?

It is not possible to delete the retired position and in the same time keep the historical data , As the position is having relation to multiple areas if it is used and not only the position hierarchy (reporting to ) but also for example the worker assignment , Standard Payroll  area and its inherited Dimension (If you used to us it ), etc.. .

Yes and No.  We have discovered that we have heirachry setup and this prevents us from deleting the positions.  So we have decided to leave them as is.

I don't believe you can delete a retired position if it was previously assigned to a worker. You would have to delete all employee position assignments, compensation, and payroll transactions.

    Hi Pamela Broussard,

You can delete the retired positions, but I'm not sure if this will delete the data, so I recommend that you use the data migration tool in advance. This way you can try loading your positions again when you need them later.

    Best Regards,

    Charlotte
