How to add wait condition in MS Flow Power Automate Dynamics 365

Hi,

I want to add wait condition in my flow that wait until field contains data like OOB workflow as shown in below screenshot.

I want to stop flow until specific field contains data (for ex. Regarding field on Email entity). If condition satisfied then run flow and execute other steps in flow.

I have tried using do until action in MS Flow but it does not work like OOB workflow wait condition.

Thanks in advance.

I have the same question (0)

    Hi Ankita,

Could you share behavior that how doesn't MS Flow work like OOB workflow wait condition and screenshot of your flow configuration?

In my demo flow, it will update job title to "Shang hai Manager"  when a specific contact's city field equals "Shang hai", and it works as expected.

    Hi Clofy,

Here I want to wait until "Owner" custom field contains data as shown in above screenshot. If  "Owner" field contains data then proceed with "Create a new record" action.

and if "Owner" field does not contain data then wait until "Owner" field contain data.

    Thanks!

    Hi Clofy,

I am facing issue that I want to wait until "Owner" custom field contains data. If  "Owner" field contains data then proceed with "Create a new record" action.

and if "Owner" field does not contain data then wait until "Owner" field contain data and do not proceed with "Create a new record" action as shown in above comment.

    Thanks!

    Hi Ankita,

Based on your query you are creating email and you want to wait till “Regarding” field gets the data in it.

Once regarding field gets the data then you want to perform any action like create record or update record.

If I understood correctly then below are steps to achieve this easily:

Create an Automated Flow using trigger as “When a record is created”:

    pastedimage1587022829144v1.png

Now after creating this flow it will redirect to this screen:

Here need to select environment, Entity and Scope

    pastedimage1587022842570v2.png

This step is where you need to achieve your OOB Workflow wait condition:

Click on New Step as shown in above screen shot after filling required info.

    pastedimage1587022876323v4.png

    Select “Do Until”

Now search for regarding field as shown in below screenshot:

    pastedimage1587022897724v5.png

Then need to select condition as “is not equal to” and a value as null from the expression:

    pastedimage1587022907193v6.png

Now condition is ready, need to perform an action.

Click on Add an action button.

In my example I am going to create Contact.

    pastedimage1587022918725v7.png

Fill required contact’s details then Click on Save.

    Your flow is ready.

You can test it by creating Email in your CRM environment.

Then check your flow “Run History”

    Hi Ankita,

Do you mean that even if the condition is not met, the next action still runs after 10 to 20 seconds?

I'm not familiar with Flow, but in my opition, "do until" connector might not be equivalent to "wait until" in workflow,

because the connector has a maximum iteration count during period, and it seems that "wait until" hasn't such limit.

I'm trying to find solution to set up correctly.

    Regards,

    Clofly
