Performance in different Geography for a Single instance global implementation

We are about to start D365F&O implementation for a Global Customer with Users in NA, EMEA & APAC. Maximum number of users are in NA. Client is very concerned about performance having faced issues with D365 CRM implementation where users in geography other than the data center host geography faced performance issues.

Questions:

1) What is difference between Single-Instance & Multiple-Instance implementation? Is there any guide available and recommendation on when to use which?

2) If we go for single instance implementation approach, How do we ensure that performance is comparable across geography.

Just to confirm, it will be a cloud implementation.

Any link to documentation, Whitepapers on performance across geography will help.

Any queries to me, do let me know.

TIA.

The biggest issue will be the latency if users are on different continent than the system. There's not much you can do it.

You can already do some preliminary tests by deploying a demo machine and comparing the user experience when using it from different continents. You can also deploy demo machines on the users' continents to help them compare.

    Thank You Nikolaos.

Is there any document / whitepaper which Microsoft has published to deal specifically with these kind of cases? What happens in case performance is not found to be suitable using the demo machines? Really appreciate any help.

    TIA.

I'm not aware of such white papers. If you notice in your tests that the latency is too big, you should consider multiple instances instead of one.

Can azure.microsoft.com/.../expressroute help in reducing risk?
