head phone doesn't work with Remote Assist app

Posted on by 87

Good afternoon,

I'm connected between PC (using Teams) and Mobile Phone using Remote Assist app.

In the live call the head phone doesn't work, but the voice come just from the speaker.

Doesn't the Remot Assist App enable the user to work with head phone?

Many thanks

Giuseppe

Are you sure that your buttons are functioning properly? There are many things that need to be taken into consideration. I had a pair of headphones that simply didn't work anymore and it turned out that the functions weren't in the optimal parameters. I've decided to take a look at https://theheadphonejunkie.com/ in order to buy a pair of new ones, and I've found some interesting models. The next step is to make a decision. I've only had wired headphones until now, but maybe I should get some wireless ones since they're way better.

    Hi Jason,

    thanks for your reply.

You were right, taping the speaker icon next to the microphone icon it switch over to your headphones (i was supposing that the audio was completely disabled).

    Thanks again

    Hi Giuseppe,

Remote Assist is supposed to function with Bluetooth headphones.  We are testing internally to reproduce what you describe.  Our initial investigation uncovered a bug with switching audio during a call when the headphones were added after the conversation had already started but it's more of UI bug where the audio icon didn't update properly.

Can you try switching to your headphones and playing any sounds from your phone to verify you are getting audio to your headphones?

Then attempt a Remote Assist call.  The phone should default speaker at that point.  Then tap the speaker icon next to the microphone icon and it should switch over to your headphones. Are the sounds coming from the headphones or the phone speaker at that point?  Please reply to let me know if that worked.

Additionally, can you let us know the make/model and operating system of your phone?  We want to test on that specific hardware.

    Thank you

    Best,

    Jason
