Hi All,
We recently deployed Dynamics CRM 2016 in the cloud. One problem I am facing is the following.
I have created several accounts. My company manages the deployment and maintenance of hundreds of sites for each account. Is there an easy way in CRM to add each site underneath an account and track everything from design stage to deployment, to revenue over the course of months or years? We are connected to sharepoint, so I would like to be able to upload related documentation to on a site by site basis. And, of course open support cases against them.
After considering how to do this. I realized that this could get really complicated as there is no real way to relate the sites to the main account except through "child accounts". But, that these are not accounts. Just sites under the main account. Is CRM the best place to manage projects like this? Is there some related tool that Microsoft offers that CRM has hooks for?
Just curious what the recommended tool or software is to manage such a prodigious amount of information.
Thank You,
Matt M.-------

I have the same question (0)Hi Matt,
Typically you would create a custom entity called sites and create a 1 to many relationship between accounts and sites so each account could have many sites. You could configure document management on for your new Sites entity so that documents are stored in their own SharePoint folder for each site.
Also it might be worthwhile to have a look Project Service Automation which is an application you can install on top of CRM to manage projects and it includes timesheets, estimate vs actuals worked, invoicing. This might be better suited than going the custom route
