Having problems getting a calendar drop-down to work in a data contract dialog

Posted on by 2,005

Hi everyone,

I've been searching to a solution for this all day, but I've come up empty after trying all of the advice I found on this topic via google and this forum and I am a bit frustrated.

I created a service for automatically posting transfer journals from data in counting journals with incorrect wmsLocationIds (we've made a modification to indicate where the material is really at with a new field--I work in steel so moving it to the correct location just isn't in the offing.) Anyway, they want to allow users to specify a date and a site id for processing the incorrectly located counting journals. I created a data contract with parms for the date value and the inventsiteId value. The InventSiteId field has a lookup that shows the possible sites available for a user to pick in that company. The date field LOOKS like it is a drop down, but it isn't and it doesn't show the calendar button to display a calendar lookup.

This is going to be a huge problem for my user base, who will want the lookup. Is there a method decoration I am not implementing to have it show the calendar drop down? Following the advice of this forum, I changed the references of the date variable to the TransDate EDT and then refreshed the caches, but it still doesn't work.

This is the last issue preventing me from getting my business analysts to test this functionality. Can someone point me in the right direction? Thanks.

I'm an idiot and Rustem was right.

I did change every declaration of the variable to TransDate...but I didn't change the parm return value. It was still using the primitive date datatype. Once I changed the return value, everything worked as expected! I'm assuming I missed this in a fit of pique yesterday.

    Thanks for the help.

    Hi,

Can you try checking your contract class in the XPPIL folder that it has the transdate as EDT ?If not as Transdate EDT, can you try running Inc CIL.

    /Uday.

    Rustem,

Thanks for the response, but I had already seen this post as I mentioned in my initial post and tried to use their solution (setting the date variables as EDT TransDate and refreshing the caches) and it did not work.

I will take another look at my data contract to see if perhaps I screwed up a declaration like the poster did, but I've already been over it several times and I don't think I missed anything. Thanks again.
