I applied for a trial version of dynamics 365 for FO online. I want to use it to test the effect of integrating SharePoint to save files. But when I set up SharePoint on the Document management parameters page, it prompts "Unable to communicate with the SharePoint server: xxxxxx.sharepoint.com".
My account meets the requirements:
https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/dynamics365/fin-ops-core/fin-ops/organization-administration/configure-document-management#troubleshooting-sharepoint-communication
Is it because the trial version of Dynamics 365 for FO cannot use this function? How can I reslove the issue?
Thanks!
I don't think that the free trial supports this scenario. It's a trial for evaluating D365FO processes, not so much for evaluating techical integrations to other systems.
You can not do what you are trying to do with trial version.
Hi Zhenxin,
Are you in the Free trial experience? It is not fully functional, and this system can't be used for development at all.
If you are a Dynamics customer or partner, you can sign up for a customer / partner trial, then you can download a local virtual machine (VHD) with a fully functional system.
See:https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/dynamics365/fin-ops-core/dev-itpro/dev-tools/sign-up-preview-subscription
Thanks,
BTW, do you know the VHD default Sql Server connection password?
The password for axdbadmin on the downloadable VHD is AOSWebSite@123.
But if you're already logged to the VM as Administrator, then you can use that login. You need to start SSMS "as Administrator" or the login will not work.
Hi zhenxin,
1,For windows Authentication you have to open SQL server as Run as Administrator otherwise you will get authentication Error.
2,For SQL server Authentication, Use below user name & password:
USERNAME: AOSUSER
PASSWORD: AOSWebSite@123

Related to the trial and SharePoint: The trial is running on a Microsoft tenant; not on your tenant. So, the prerequisite "The user is a typical user on the tenant, not an external user (for example, a user from another tenant)." is not met for the SharePoint integration as you are considered to be an external user on this trial. For this reason, also the trial can't be used with the connectors on Power Apps and Power Automate. See also: dynamicspedia.com/.../
Like mentioned by Will, apply for a customer/partner trial.
Thanks all of you.
But the strange thing is that I still have a trial version of HumanResource site, it can integrate with SharePoint.
Is this different from F&O? Looks like they should be the same?
They are different products, and different trials, and the features and limitations can be different.
