Project accounting: fees from invoice proposal

Hi,

I'm exploring how Time and material projects work and the options they offer and I'm a bit confused when it comes to charge fees. I'm exploring the functionality as a way of journalizing markup.

As I see it there are two ways of doing this:

1. Through a fee journal - create the fee transactioins and then select them on the invoice proposal. This works fine, it creates fees lines.

2. From the invoice proposal - there's an option called "create fees" (see screenshot) but I can't make it work.

Anyone knows how to make this work?

I have the same question (0)

    Hi,

Please select a fee category in the form that you shared, enter an amount and then hit OK.

Once this is done click the Totals button on top of the invoice proposal form and you should see the higher amount.

If you are still not sure :-) then hit the post button but disable the posting parameter and enable the print invoice parameter to your screen to see the fees added.

If this is fine for you then you can post the invoice proposal as usual.

    Best regards,

    Ludwig

    Hi Patricia,

What's your problem? Do you mean that you have trouble with selecting the category when create fees?

If so, according to you screenshot, please check if you have related project category of which the Transaction type is expense.

    Hi,

Please check whether the project category created with transaction type = Fee; has been marked as Active in journals = Yes. This should populate the category in the create fees drop down.

As a checklist, you need to have the following:

    1. Project Journal with Type = Fee

    2. Category Group with transaction type = Fee

    3. Shared Category for the Fee

    4. Project category with transaction type = Fee and marked as Active in Journal = YES
