is there a manufacturing add-on to use prod. families in sales orders and create prod. orders from these sales orders ? additional looking for a product configurator add-on.

thx for the links. i checked them. interesting add-ons, but do not have the needed features. i think in that case a customization will be the best way.
another feature i was looking for is a product configurator. there are a couple on the market. the best for the customer's needs seem to be that one of modus consult: www.modusconsult.de/.../modus-configurator.html

Generally speaking, I haven't come across any specific add-ons in this space. But you might want to check with the following ISVs in case they have done something to facilitate it as a larger part of their solution:
* Cost Control Software Manufacturing Plus (www.costcontrolsoftware.com)
* Abakion Supply Chain Box (https://supplychainbox.com)
