A known good db was copied to a Win7/64 box with IE10. Custom POS buttons designed to browse to a web-site do not do anything when launched. Is this due to the IE10? How to proceed?

Ha, almost there. Glad to help.
My bad. All is well. Thanks for the response. Is it Saturday yet?
I'll check it out and reply shortly!
Thanks.
Can you list the command listed for the POS button in Store Manager under Database-> Registers -> Custom POS button (minus any sensitive material, of course)? If it doesn't turn out to be the issue mentioned above, it could simply be that the path to IE is different on the new machine. For example, if the old system was 32 bit, what previously may have been in C:\Program Files may now be in C:\Program Files (X86) on the new system.
HTML Status bar (LineItem.htm) is OK. It's the Custom POS buttons that don't launch.
Hi Marc.
Think Gregg Kosel have published something what could be related to your problem... Please check this next: community.dynamics.com/.../how-to-fix-html-status-bars-that-do-not-populate-after-you-apply-to-internet-explorer-10-0.aspx
Hope it helps... Regards, A.
