    Hi,

Refer following link for NAV 2016 Client system requirements. Microsoft has mentioned that, NAV would support on Windows 10 Pro, Enterprise, or Education (32-bit and 64-bit editions)

    msdn.microsoft.com/.../dd301054(v=nav.90).aspx

You can try to install the NAV in Windows 10 Home Edition and see if it works.

    Hi Vanessa,

As the documentation by Microsoft says that you have to have Windows 10 Pro, Enterprise, or Education (32-bit and 64-bit editions).

Check the link for all requirements: msdn.microsoft.com/.../dd301054(v=nav.90).aspx

    Hope it helps.

We have never had experience of using Home version of Windows 10 for NAV. As other respected community members mentioned, Windows 10 in general is compatible for using NAV 2016.

However it might have limitations. If I remember correctly, domain join is not available for Home version, thus windows authentication login might be an issue.

    Hi all,

Yes, it couldn't use windows authentication; but i think that they still can use NavUserPassword. However, I installed Client feature only in Windows 10 Home edition, it allow to install. The problem now is connection issue, I created new native user in NAV, it couldn't connect to server, but it works fine in server. Am I miss out anything? Please advise.

    Hi,

Check whether the ClientServicesCredentialType Parameter in on ClientUserSettings.config file is NavUserPassword.

If you have, please let us know the exact error message with a screenshot possibly to support you.

    Hope it helps.

    Hi all,

Yes, I changed the ClientServicesCredentialType to NavUserPassword in ClientUserSettings.config file for specific user. Unfortunately, no error prompt out, it only show incorrect username and password. I tried to ping for the server in the device, it works fine. However, I'm using same username and password to connect with another computer, it's works fine too. Therefore, I'm thinking that is it because of missing any component such as local activation permission? Please advice. and assist.

    Thousand thanks for any helps.

    Best regards,

    Vanessa

    Hi,

Have you mapped the windows credentials with NAVUsernamePasaword. Can you reset this user's password on NAV and try again?

    Hope it helps.

    Hi Vanessa,

Please make sure that your certificate is under Trusted Root Certificates. Check the screenshot.

You can do this by Start -> Type mmc.exe.
