Exclude members from a live journey

Hi,

I've created a journey to invite customers to one of our events. The journey starts from a segment.
Members of that segment received an email with a link to a form to register.
The emails are sent from a personal mail address from a marketing colleague, because it's a small event with our VIP customers.

A few people replied to the email that they are not available to attend the event. Problem is, in a few days people that didn't register for the event , will receive a reminder.
Ofcourse the people who replied the email should not receive the reminder email.

How can I exclude those contacts from the journey?
I'm unable to change the journey, since its' live and the Edit button is missing...

Any suggestions?
I have the same question (0)

    Hi Partner,
That does seem to be the case, and I'm testing it in my environment as such.
--The Edit button cannot be viewed on live journeys with static segments.

Looks like I've found the answer.
It is possible to edit a live journey, segment based, but only if you use a dynamics segment.
We used a static segment in this case. So this is the reason why I don't see the edit button...

Also, it seems the reason you can't edit is because it is a Segment based journey rather than a Trigger based journey. It doesn't state that these can't be edited in the docs anywhere, but this certainly seems to be the case in reality.

Wish I had an answer for you, but I'm afraid this is just an 'I share your pain' comment.

The inability to edit live journeys in a meaningful way is a MAJOR flaw, it seems you can make minor changes (e.g. change the journey name) but when you make bigger changes (e.g. audience, flow steps) it:

    1. creates a different version of the journey
    2. people will continue to run through the original journey
    3. (and this is the real kicker) there is then no way to stop the original journey

You could turn off the original journey first and clone - but if it's a trigger campaign you can't necessarily trigger the people who should be in there back into it.

We've had a similar problem with event registration flows where the event time changed after launching, it meant having to rebuild the entire journey to use a different trigger type, which also meant rebuilding all of the emails to use the new trigger type variables. So much for automation. IMO this needs some serious rethinking.

    Hi,

Are you the owner of this particular journey? And if not, are you the owner of the journeys you do have the ability to edit?

It could be that the security role you have assigned only enables you to edit journeys you are the owner of.

    Kind regards,
    Fiona

That was also my initial idea.

Indeed I'm using Real Time Marketing.
But for this one journey the edit button is missing

Other Live journeys indeed have the edit option.

    Hi Partner,
As Fiona suggested, 'Exit by segment' feature can help you, but you need to edit the live journey.
Generally, RTM journey support editing on the live journey.
--You can make lightweight edits to journeys, such as renaming elements or adjusting goal percentages, without stopping them.
If all users can't edit live journey, I suggest you create a support ticket for professional assistance following the below procedure.
Get Help + Support - Dynamics | Microsoft Doc

    Hi,

Are you using the Outbound or RealTime area?

Assuming you are using RealTime, you should still be able to have the option to edit the Journey even though it's been published:

and add a Segment to the 'Exit' area:

You can create a segment and add the Contacts who have emailed to indicate they cannot attend the event, and add to the above Exit area. These Contacts will then not continue along on the Journey.

Let me know how you get on, or if you are using the Outbound area instead,

    Kind regards,
    Fiona
