Dynamics 365 Finace) On-premise

Hello, I have a question about configuring the On-premise environment.

The current on-premise environment consists of the following:

Server (qty)

AOS (1)

Management Reporter (1)

SQL Server Reporting Service  (1)

Orchestrator (2)

SQL Server DB (1)

Q1) Should the number of AOS servers and Orchestrator servers be the same?So I'd like to add two more AOS servers. If there are many transactions in an on-premise environment, does load balancing work with Orchestrator Server? Then, if there are 5 AOS servers, do we need 5 Orchestrator servers?

Q2) Below is a reference link to how to build an on-premise server environment.

Set up and deploy on-premises environments (Platform updates 12 through 40) - Finance & Operations | Dynamics 365 | Microsoft Docs

Please let me know what I should do on the added 2 AOS servers.

    Hi dongwoon,

The purpose of an AOS and Environment Orchestrators are different. There is no relation in number of servers. You can read more here:

    docs.microsoft.com/.../hardware-sizing-on-premises-environments

In your scenario above, you not only need additional AOS servers, but also at least one Orchestrator as the documentation mentions a minimum of 3. For a production environment, also the AOS servers is requiring a minimum of 3. This is because of ensuring high-availability.

    Hello, dongwoon

    Please refere minimum-infrastructure-requirements Doc link.

    https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/dynamics365/fin-ops-core/fin-ops/get-started/system-requirements-on-prem#minimum-infrastructure-requirements.

We need at least 3 Orchestrator servers, but you can extend to 4 or 5 to stabilize service fabric cluster. Please refer Standalone Cluster Deployment Preparation - Azure Service Fabric | Microsoft Docs.  Based on our experence, 3 Orch servers are enough for 5 AOS servers.

2 AOS servers are minimum for sandbox, 3 AOS servers are minimum for PROD.  We recommend you to setup dedicate batch server if business require heavy batch processing. Configure batch-only and interactive-only AOS nodes in on-premises deployments - Finance & Operations | Dynamics 365 | Microsoft Docs
