My company want to start using the NAV ERP system. Should i wait for Nav 7 ? or go ahead start with 2009?

Go ahead.
NAV7 will be better than NAV2009R2, but you'll have to wait one year or so before the release of the next version! Plus each new version contains usually many bugs that are solved latter on with a SP1. From this perspective R2 is more stable than 7 will be at the beggining.
You will have plenty of time to upgrade after the release! A technical upgrade is usually not difficult.

yes it works in SBS Prem 2011.
