I see a thread for AX, but in 365, surely there's a way to create a scheduled run of the

"Assign users to roles" feature..?

I've poked through SysAdmin section, but cannot  see how it's done..

thanks much,

Rich

    Hi Rich,

The automatic role assignment works with a scheduled batch job which should be there as part of the base deployment of your environment. Can you verify if the batch job is present, has a task and is not set to withhold?

If the batch job is missing or the task within the job is missing, you can create them manually in your environment. The class name for the task should be: SysSecurityDynamicRoleAssignment.

Some more related information can be found on my blog: dynamicspedia.com/.../. The blog was written for AX2012. In Dynamics 365, you can type the name of the class in the batch task.

Hi, I'm new to batching.. and when I go to set up a new batch job, the  "Class name" dropdown is confusing me.

For assigning users to roles, is there supposed to be a 'Calss name' associated with it?

    Appreciate any direction.

I searched online, but so far am not seeing an abswer to my question.. I'll keep looking

    Hi Rich,

The class name for the automatic role assignment was mentioned above: SysSecurityDynamicRoleAssignment.

When i try to create a manual batchjob the field where to enter a "class name" is DISabled.

Do you know anything about reason for that?

    Hi Magnus,

In my environment, the Class name is not disabled. Can you verify if there is a security restriction, personalization, or a customization?

Can you share a screenshot if none of the suggestions is causing the behavior?
