Our environment is NAV 2017 and I've been testing Fabulatech's serial port redirector to get scale weight through TCP/IP.
I'm having an issue where after a while the Navision Client holds on to the redirected COM port.
The user has to close out of the Nav Client so that it "let's go" of the com port connection.
Has anyone dealt with this? and/or is it possible to kill the com port connection the NAV Client is holding to?

I have the same question (0)@ermiec checking to see if you ever found a solution for this. We are using a much older version of NAV and recently started trying to operate computers in a remote location. VPN connection was way to slow so we are using Remote Desktop sessions and are using port redirection to connect to the client's locally connected shipping scale. We have started running into the same problem where it seems that NAV is holding onto the scale's comport. So far restarting NAV has been the only workaround. Today I also found that I can get the process to fail if I turn off the scale and then try to get the scales weight from NAV. I expected this to fail but I didn't expect NAV to continue to hold onto the port. Any suggestions would be great.
