moving a line item in a sales order.

if i make an order and need to reorder the line items in the sales order to match different documentation. how do i do that?

    As suggested by Suresh, normally this is a common customization on every NAV implementations: on the Sales Line, add an integer field called “External Document Line No” and in this field you can insert the line number of the other document that you want to reference and “link” to your Sales Line. Then you can order the lines as you want without changing the primary key.

    You need to modify the Line no but by default that filed is not available for edit and if you do edit it will rename the whole record, the best option would be customize to add an integer field to the table and sort the page based on that number so that you can modify that field easily instead of modifying that actual line no which is part of the table key
