We are implementing inventory and warehouse module and want to track our inventory using Barcode. What is the best practice or what is the way we can use the Barcode for getting the inventory IN and OUT of warehouse using barcode scanning and Dynamics AX.

Is there a software or extension made for Dynamics AX to achieve this or we can directly connect barcode reader to the PC and use Dynamics AX as a database for items? What are other ways to use barcode to receive and issue inventory?

Hi, Abubaker - I just saw this so you may have made a decision already, but To-Increase has a fantastic barcoding solution for Microsoft Dynamics AX called DCS 2014. It is reasonably priced, easily customizable and provides real-time access to standard AX capabilities in inbound, warehouse, outbound and production features.

What version of AX are you using? If AX 2012 R3, this functionality comes out-of-the-box with the new Warehouse Management module. With the new module you can connect a barcode scanner directly to a PC and use the Warehouse Mobile Device Portal to scan the barcodes. You should not need an additional solution, as suggested by others, to accomplish what you describe.
