Different Journal sequence for different journals

Hi,

Is it possible to assign different sequence for different journals like Inventory movement, adjustment, transfer etc. Right now the journal number is following the same sequence number IJxxxxxx for all of these. It means if I make an adjustment journal it may get IJ00001, then if I make a transfer journal it will get IJ00002. I need different journal sequence for different journals.

    Hi Dhanoop,

    There can be only a difference in the voucher numbers per journal name, but this is not what you mean. The journal number is a placeholder to have the journals unique. When you open different types of journals, it is stored in the same table.

    If you really need different numbers, you should have to customize it, but in my opinion I would try to avoid this customization as it is just a number.

    Hi Dhanoop,

    You would need to specify the number sequence on the inventory journal names. Then based on the form you opened or the journal type (can't check right now if there is on the InventJournalTable this field and when it is filled) you have to interact to use another number sequence. I think it is not that difficult.
