Field Service Entity Icons missing from Navigation (Default Sitemap) - known bug?

Hi all,

After updating the default sitemap navigation the Field Service entity icons are no longer being displayed. In the screenshot below you can see that all Field Service specific entities are missing the icon.

In the out-of-the-box "Field Service" app, the icons are still there.

My colleague has also noticed this in another instance for a different client. Is this a known bug with the field service entities?

In the sitemap designer the reference to the icon is "AppDesigner.UseDefaultImage" but it's still not displaying correctly.

We are using Dynamics 365 Online v9.0

Try going into each entity and re update the icons? This has worked for me in the past

Thanks Thomas. Unfortunately that doesn't work. I have to go into the sitemap designer and lookup to the icon from there.

My question is more around why did this happen in the first place and is this a consistent bug with all Field Services instances?

Hi partner,

You could clear your browser Cache and Cookies, or try another browser.
Does this problem still exist?

In addition, you could use the XrmToolbox sitemap editor (http://www.xrmtoolbox.com/) to change the icons.

There looks to be a problem with editing icons in the SiteMap editor (v9.1 in my case).

After trying out a number of approaches, the following work for me:

For each icon, create two web resources, adding the resource after creating the first one and publishing after each step:

Display Name: {item}.png; Name: {solution prefix}_{item}.png

Add this resource to the SiteMap using the editor

Display Name: {item}; Name {solution prefix}_{item}

BTW: Thomas Dayman's solution worked for me for entities, but not the tiles and not for non-entity items

Hi Inksrm,

I faced similar issue with Project service automation or PSA module where sitemap was missing. The reason was Microsoft is enforcing towards UCI client and the sitemap is visible over there. The same might be the reason for you as well. Please check the solution version of the Field service module you have. If the version is 3.x, my statement may hold true in your case as well.

Since the SiteMap is used in UCI only they may have udpated default icons only for SVG images. So you need to reconfigure sitemap manually if needed.

Hi Inksrm,

Which version of Field Service do you have installed? I've seen this before and the suggestions above have worked, but I've seen one other scenario and am curious to see which version of FS you have installed. Let me know.

Hi Scott,

Currently on version 7.5.4.51 and issue still occurring in multiple instances. Note - this was happening before I upgraded to this version.

I see there is an upgrade available too.
