Visual Studio Code does not suggest object id's

Hi experts,

When I make a new file in Visual Studio Code on a new AL:GO project, and enter /table/ (or any other object type), then it does not suggest an id for the new object. For instance /50100/. When I press Ctrl-space, it shows a list of snippets starting with /taction/, /tactionref/ etc.

I have disabled all my extensions in Visual Studio Code - except /AL Language Extension.../ from Microsoft.

How do I make it suggest the next free object id in my project?

Hope you can help.

Best regards,

Morten

    Hi gdrenteria,

    Thanks for your time.

    Yes, I have downloaded symbols.

The problem is on every project, I have. I have many for different customers and they have many objects (both tables, pages, table ext.'s, page ext.'s etc.)

Since it is a problem also in a new AL:GO project with downloaded symbols, it must be a setting in my Visual Studio Code, but I cannot find it.

    Best regards,

    Morten

Do you mean that VS Code will suggest you the next unused Object ID?
This is not a standard feature of AL Language, you may have other extensions installed and you disabled it now. You need to find the extension that provides this functionality and enable it.
Normally there is no prompt. . . .

    Hope this helps.
    Thanks.

    Hi Yun Zhu,

    Thank you for your reply.

I have seen several examples from Erik Hougaard and maybe also from you, where the intelliSense (Ctrl-space) finds and suggests the next unused object number. For instance, if I have my own table with id 50100, then when I create a new file and write "table" and press Ctrl-space, it should suggest 50101.

I have managed to find the setting, so now it works!

This check box must be marked in order to make it work: "Text Editor: "Suggest: Show References".

    Best regards,
