Purchasing Return Transaction Reversal

An inventory item was Received in to the system by accident so then a return for that mis-received item was done. Said item is still outstanding in our Unvouchered Payables and now needs to be actually received and invoiced.  Does anyone know what the best way to remedy this situation would be? Is there a way to UNDO the Return of the Inventory Item completely?

Please Advise.

    RE: Purchasing Return Transaction Reversal

    Hi Miller,

If my understanding is correct, following are the process you have made in the GP system,

    1. Created PO for item XXX

    2. Posted Received transaction entry for XXX item.

    3. Made Enter/Match Invoice and posted for that PO

    4. Realized XXX item not received

    5. Created Return entry and posted

    6. now, need to receive the same item again.

    If so,

Solution: You can create a new PO and receive the item again.

Please update if my understanding is wrong.

There is an option on the Return Transaction Entry to "Replace Returned Goods", which means items will be replenished again to be received all over again.

    RE: Purchasing Return Transaction Reversal

    Hi,

If you void the return, you will be voiding only the "voucher" and you will have to make an inventory adjustment.

Why not just doing a new PO for this item?

If you mark the "Replace Returned Goods" when you do a Return, the same PO will be use if it's not move to history.
