Hi All,

I want to use email alert function in AX 2012 CU8, but seems it doesn't work.

what I've done:

1. System parameter --- Alert --- Email ID

2. Tool --- Option --- General : email address

3. Tool --- Option --- Notification: send alert as email / send notification in email.

4. start a batch job and set up alert send to email

I could receiver alert from AX client, but no email

I've finished email parameter set up, but for this case, I think the problem is system does not create email message at all.

Any suggestion would be appreciated.

Please check the following websites and compare them with the setup that you made.

I assume that something might have been overlooked.

Did you test your SMTP configuration? For instance, try sending an e-mail from code. If e-mails don't work at all, they won't work from alerts either.

Hi Martin,

thanks for your reply. Actually I am confused here.

My understanding is that even though SMTP has not been setup or setup incorrectly, at least, system will generate a record into e-mail sending status, right?

if so, I would say it is nothing to do with SMTP setup, because I could not see any record in that form.

But I will definitely re-check SMTP tomorrow.

Hi,

The error mentions the batch log. Have you checked that and did you find some additional information?
