    Hi Kartik,

I have split your question as it was a different question on an older topic.

When you deploy a package, you are installing runtime components only. Code should be moved using models. Have a look at the documentation how to do this: docs.microsoft.com/.../models-export-import

Deployable packages are used to distributed compiled binaries. It seems that you installed binaries but then you overwrote them by binaries generated from source on that machine.

You either want to deploy binaries and then you shouldn't do development activities in the target environment (such as compiling source code), or you want to copy source code and then you shouldn't use deployable packages.

For UAT or Prod deployment , shall I use deployable package  to move the code or model files import alone. Do I need to place model files as well in asset library for MS to carry out deployment process or deployable package will have code bits and binaries as well .

And for dev boxes deployment , should we use only model import  followed with full build in VS??

    Hi Kartik,

As mentioned above, the deployable package does not contain source code; only runtime elements. If you need the model files, depends on several factors. If the solution is using customization models and you are also developing customizations, you should have the model files. If it is e.g. an ISV solution based on extensions only, the sources are not required.

If you want to customize these ISV solutions, you should contact the vendor to negotiate if they would allow to distribute their source coding.

    Hi Andre ,

    Thanks for confirming .

Although one more doubt on Production URL , will MS enable it for project implementation after UAT sign off or I need to request using support ticket as I need URL to make it pass through Org firewall and not sure right now who to contact on this. Also will Prod URL be static IP .

    Hi Karthik,
