Where to find Distribution Reference in SmartList

I am new to using GP2010 and cannot find the Distribution Reference in the Purchasing module when creating a SmartList.  I don't see DSCRIPTN nor do I see DESCRIPTION either.  Is that field not available in this version?

    Hey KM4,

The distribution reference would be held in the distribution table. For Payables, this would be the PM10100 (Work/open) or PM30300 (History). The core GP smartlists do not look at these tables. You would need to join the PM10100 and PM30300 to another table that is being used on your Smartlist. Assuming this is a Payables Smartlist.

The field in the table that holds this is DISTREF. Once you have the tables linked in Smartlist you should be able to pull the field onto the smartlist.

Now, you are on GP 2010. You won't have Smartlist Designer to be able to accomplish this. You would need to have Smartlist Builder which is a third party product.

I would also recommend that you start the process of looking to upgrade. There is no support for the version that you are on.

    I hope this helps!

    Thank you!

It is possible that the Distribution Reference field is not available in the Purchasing module of GP2010. You may need to check with the software documentation or contact technical support for further assistance.        home bargains portal login

Do you have access to SSRS and SQL? You could create a SQL view with this information and then post a report using that view in SSRS. Is there any possibility of upgrading GP?

The reference to Distribution Reference makes me thinkg you are possibly referring to posting purchasing/payables data in the GL.  If so, that is found at SmartList > Financial > Account Transactions.

[I agree with the other posts about getting on a supported version of GP.  However, the distribution/originating information I think the AccountTransactions view back in GP 2010.]
