MS CRM Outlook Client - Any way to switch the Synchronizing Computer?

Hi all, I've seen a couple of older posts (around 2016) on this, but nothing that has led me to a definite answer.

I have a customer using the 2016 Outlook Client (and subsequent update) but has it installed on 2 machines; a laptop and a desktop, using the same credentials to connect.

After installing on the 2nd machine (the laptop) he got an error saying that the Synchronization wouldn't work because it's already connected to another machine. He did get the option to switch this to the current machine (the laptop) but we decided to say no for now.

Is there a way he can switch this quickly, depending on which machine he chooses to use on that day? Are there any issues with him doing so?
