Set work order product to 'Used' automatically and as per the standard

Hi,

I have a work order, that is associated with a work order Product of type 'Service'.

I want the System to set the position status from 'Estimated' to 'Used' of that work order product automatically, i.e. the user shall not manually set that Position status.

In my Scenario, the user is ot completng the work order via the Field Service Mobile App but through a form in Dy365 directly.

Hence, I want to save him those extra clicks to qualify the associated work order Product.

Before attempting to achieve my requirement via custom Workflows/Plugins, I am reaching out to understand if the Standard holds a Setting for this, which I am overlooking currently.

So ultimately, here is my Question:

Is there a Standard Field Service configuration, which sets the Position Status from 'Estimated' to 'Used' of that work order product automatically?

    Hey, so I've tried that with an org that is on Field Service V.8.5 and it works fine there (see screens below).

    Or are you expecting this flat method to also apply to the "Total Cost" field of the Word Order Service? As much as I know it only applies to the "Amount" fields (Sales Prices) but not to the internal "Cost" fields.

    Hi, I now have created a workflow, which is registered on the creation of a new work order service.

    Hence, I switched from work order product to work order service in regards to my original post.

    I am observing the following:

    - the service is set up as a service (Product entity: field service product type equals service)

    - the service is set up as a flat fee (duation rounding policy of the field service pricelist item set to 'None')

    - still, when this service is used in a work order, the flat fee is calculated in dependency of the service duration

    - that means the flat fee is only converted to an actual cost if the service Duration is one hour (1,0 hour = 1,0 flat fee)

    - if the service duration (coming from the actual work order) is less than an hour, the flat fee will be converted to actual cost by a fraction (0,5 hour = 0,5 flat fee)

    My expectation would be that the flat fee of the service shall be converted to an actual cost no matter how long the service actually took place.

    Is there a setting that I am overlooking?

    Hi Tino, no there isn't anything that would do it automatically. I would also go ahead by configuring or deploying Workflows/Flows/Plugins for that.
