AX rejects the same unit numbers although one is the Dept and the other is the BU

Hi All,

I have department 006 and also BU 006. AX rejects it. So in order to have 006 for the department, I have to put 006 dot (006.). Will this create a problem down the road in terms of data and reporting or anything else? Thanks so much!

Hi Kim,

It won't create any issues with data or reporting. But they will look very similar. Can you not try naming it BU-006

Hi Kim,

Please make things unique.

You can e.g. create D-006 or 1-006 representing department 006 and B-006 or 2-006 representing business unit 006.

There are many ways how you can avoid this issue.

Using a dot is something that I would hate if I would have to analyze the data later on.
