GP 2013 - Cannot delete PO with status: New

Have a use that got kicked out of the system and has a corrupt PO.  The user gets an error that she can't view this type of PO when she opens it.  I can open it as a power user/admin but still can't delete it.  It is still 'NEW' status, but the delete function through GP does not do anything - does not delete nor send a message .  Does someone have any other ideas on how to delete this or maybe is it possible to get rid of this PO through SQL?

    Did you tried PO reconciliation?

You most likely ended up with an inconsistent entry in the POP tables (i.e. missing details for the header record). Before reaching to the hard solution (like Mick suggested), I'd also run a reconcile first (or check-links on the POP Work).
