Integration of Dynamics 365 Human Resources absence and Leave with Outlook Calendars

Posted on by 95

I am creating an automated flow in Dataverse to connect the approved Absence & Leave to Outlook calendars...

I did notice, however, some information on the net from some professionals mentioned a Microsoft D365HR integration with outlook calendars as part of the new enhancements (release?). I cannot find anything in the MS info though...

Is anyone aware of Microsoft working on showing one´s absence and leave in Outlook calendars?

Thank you

    Hi Parag Chapre ,

thanks a lot for your advice!

In my case I have automatically triggered flow for the outlook integration (according to your blog post).

In your advice there is a manually trigger with the start date and end date inputs from the user.

So I cannot use it as I need the automatically trigger.

    Kind regards,

    Rifat

    Hi Rifat,

You can create parameters in power automate and compare two parameters with date field in the entity.

    Please check this link

    Hi Parag,

    thanks for your answer!

Sorry, but I did not get your solution advice. Where can I set the parameter?

In the entity LeaveRequestDetails I do not get one row with all the vacation details but 5 rows with for each day of vacation.

That's why I am stuck and cannot contiue.

    Kind regards,

    Rifat

    Hi Rifat,

yes, you can make a parameter as from and to date and send only one email.

    Hi Parag Chapre ,

is there a possibility to send only one invitation for the whole leave and absence?

    For example:

    Vacation: 09.01.2023 - 13.01.2023 (totally 5 days)

In your solution I get now 5 emails for the 5 days. But I want to have only one email with start date 09.01. and end date 13.01.2023.

Did you work on that also?

By the way great solution, thank you very much !!!!

    Kind regards,

    Rifat

    Thank you, Parag...

I have seen that article and it's a great option. I have that as option 1 (a great way to connect to outlook)..

And option 2 is attempting to create an ICS invitation send by email instead of creating an event directly into the calendar (we have something similar created for courses)

    Trying several options here...

    Cheers

    Hi Farouk,

This is not standard functionality. I have written a blog post on How to integrate Dynamics 365 HR Leave requests with Outlook.

You can refer to the below blog post link and implement solutions in your own way.
