SharePoint Integration

Hi Team,

We have implemented Dynamics 365. Before this, a team created a SharePoint site with Document libraries. Their structure goes several levels deep before we get to the actual folders I am being asked to integrate with Dynamics. There has been a discussion about creating a new library based on the default settings of Dynamics / SharePoint integration but the final answer is the team using SharePoint does not want to change. So I must adapt the CRM integration for the existing folders.

The scenario is we create the record on the CRM side and then manually point the document location folder to an existing document location. There are only about 20 records we have to do manually. After that, I would like to have a new location created t their root level for each new record. I have tried to do that but it seems CRM cannot go that many levels deep into a document library on an already existing site?

Is there a limitation on the number of levels you can traverse for a document location as the root in SharePoint for the CRM configuration?

Or am I just not understanding how to set this up properly?

This is an example of where the root is they want to use.

Thoughts?

    Hi,

We have verified the integration between CRM and SharePoint up to 7 levels and it is working fine, our SharePoint URL is as below:

    https://crm185547.sharepoint.com/mobeen1/mobeen2/mobeen3/mobeen4/mobeen5/mobeen6/mobeen7

We have configured this URL in Dynamics CRM and it is working fine as expected:

    Hi Mobeen,

Yes, I figured it out. You have to actually build the structure in CRM to match the structure in SharePoint. It took me a long time to understand that. My frame of reference was to browse to the folders. I couldn't get my mind around the fact that you have to kind of build it backward to forward. Some things take me longer than others..:)

    Thanks for the reply.
