Ax 2012 installation and Error 1309

Hi,

I have been trying to install Ax 2012, after providing the credentials, it stuck at the error 1309, which asks to check if the file exists and the user id has rights to access it. I have logged in with domain admin user and the file is at the expected location. The screen shot of the error is as follows:

    Probably the filename is too long. Try to copy the dvd content to a directory directly in c:

    Hi Thomas,

    Thank you very much for the reply which has helped a bit.

    The previous error was resolved after I changed the setup file location to C drive but it has started to give another error after that,

     

    I have tried to give as much shorter name as possible but it didn't help

    Hi Abhinay,

    did you copy the contents from DVD again or did you move the files from previous directory?

    In second case I think the first time you copied the files the maximum um 255 characters (windows file system limitation) has already been reached during copy and therefor some files were not copied/created.

    Hi Thomas,

    I moved the installable files from one location to the other, I do not have any dvd of the setup as I have downloaded it from the partnersource portal.

    I had to download and install Ax 2012 R2 which recently was released and it worked.
