We have a view for Won Opportunities but every time we try to search a opportunity by its Potential Customer name it does not give a result. We can see the opportunity listed in the view but if we search by the same in the search bar it does not show any results. We are working with On Premises Dynamics Version 8.2
Thanks this helped
Hello Simon,
I suggest two different approaches to troubleshoot this issue further.
Approach 1 - Check what are the fields included in the Opportunity Quick Find View
Have you already checked the "Opportunity Quick Find View"? Is the "Potential Customer" field included in this view?
In case it is not, I suggest to add it in the view and attempt again to execute the search.
Also, is there any filter criteria in the Opportunity Quick Find View? Are the Won Opportunities being filtered out from this view? Take in mind that this will also exclude Won Opportunity records to be excluded from the results in the search.
Approach 2 - Analyze the network traces when searching the Potential Customer
You can use the developer tools of the browser, in particular the Network traces, to get more details of the query being done to CRM.
When you perform a search in the Quick Find, there will be an entry in the Network traces which contains "fetchXML=<fetchXML query>".
In these traces, you can check the fetchXML query being used. In particular, you will be able to check what are the attributes being searched, and the filters applied. This way you will be able to have more clarity on why no results are retrieved.
Hope this helps
