Hai.

Currently We are using AX 2012 R3 RTM(Kernal Version :6.3.164.0, Application Version: 6.3.164.0).

I want to Update My Ax Software

I just Want to know What are the Steps to Update the AX.

Can you any one Give me the List What we are need to install.

I want to Update the CU9 in My System,

Can i Update the Directly or I need to Install CU8 (or) any Other Hotfixes.

Currently We are using Visual Studio 2010 It is Suitable for AX 2012 R3 RTM.

Hi Srinivas

You can check all the latest releases of AX 2012 R3 in this MSDN blog : blogs.msdn.microsoft.com/.../overview-of-microsoft-dynamics-ax-build-numbers

You can apply CU10 cumulative update directly, link : mbs2.microsoft.com/.../KBDisplay.aspx;EN-US;3102920.

To download this cumulative update you will require customer source or partner source access.

To apply this update you will need technical knowledge in AX. For a high level understanding on how to apply updates, refer : technet.microsoft.com/.../hh335183.aspx

Regarding your last question, although AX 2012 R3 RTM used Visual Studio 2010, CU8 and later updates require Visual Studio 2013.

You have to install Visual Studio 2013 before installing Visual Studio Tools.

Why don't you simply refer to documentation, such as Microsoft Dynamics AX 2012 System Requirements and Cumulative Update 10 Installation Guide? You would find answers to your questions there.

remove visual studio plug in

install pre reques:

- SQLSysClrTypes.msi

- ReportViewer.msi

hook in to LCS and create a upgrade package,

incase you don't want all those small syp models also use this trick

Had this issue just this morning. Documented as follows:

How to install CU9 on Dynamics AX 2012 R3

Symptoms:

Latest version for CU9 is .326

If the kernel or application version is lower than .326 or if the version are different, the recommendation is to run the latest AXUpdate for CU9.

Kernel 164.0

Application 326

However the installation does not detect any updates, and also cannot connect to the target modelstore when the option is presented.

Resolution:

Install Wndows Installer 4.5

Install Microsoft® System CLR Types for Microsoft® SQL Server® 2012 - SQLSysClrTypesX86.msi and SQLSysClrTypesX64.msi. Note that despite the server running Windows 2012 R2 X64, the x86 intaller is required.

Install Microsoft Report Viewer 2012 Runtime

Run the AXUpate application again, this time it should detect the components to upgrade.

Run the application on all the servers in the environment, starting with SQL, then AOS, then client and other servers (unless the install is single-box)

For the AOS server, let the AOS restart as part of the installation

Depending on what updates were applied, the application may need to be recompiled.

Just to add some "flesh" to this.

Install Report Viewer 2012 (www.microsoft.com/.../details.aspx)

Depending on what you already have on your system you may need to install prereqs SQL Server CLR Types (www.microsoft.com/.../details.aspx)

There is a 32bit version here.

And 64b version here.

Any machines running Visual Studio 2010 you can run AX2012 R3 Setup (even if it is CU9 slipstreamed) and make sure to remove "Visual Studio Tools", since it is for VS2010. Then install the VS Tools for VS2013.

I also recommend to download and install VS2013 with update 4 or higher (Update 5 go.microsoft.com/fwlink)
