Dear all,

we have some multinational customers and i like to identify

this customers for budget planning and reporting in a group.

How can i enter a special number or id at this customer to select

them for our reporting out of the other customers ?

Hi Mattias,

I think the answer is already in your heading. You can create a new customer group and use this group for these customers.

You can also use the customer fields Statistics group or Classification group.

We decided to do that with main property and company chain.

Do you know in which menu i can enter this sales data?

Hi Matthias,

The company chain can be found in Sales & Marketing, Setup, Prospects.

Can you indicate where you have seen the field Main property? Which version of AX are you using? Do you have some customizations or add-ons?

Dear André,

we use Dynamics AX 2012 R2.

You can see the entry main property within the customer data in

the register Sales information on the right side. Below there is the field

for company chain.

In Sales and Marketing you can also enter the main property in the menu you described me.

Setup-Prospects. In this menu in my version of AX i can't find company chain :-)

I still can't find the Main property. I included a part of my menu in AX 2012. Are we on the same page?

Hi André,

yes it's the same menu.

But the entries are differenet at my AX Menu.

I have under Prospects the following entries.

-Business classifications

-Main property

-Customer groups

-Sales districts

-Segments

-Subsegments

-Vendor groups

Probably i don't have the rights to see all entries?

It's a test environment of our group company the go live of our

company is on 1. October 2014 in AX.

Probably this is the reason?

Hi Matthias,

If you have administrator rights, you will see all options. If not, please check the rights. I have looked in the development environment and found no option for the Main property. I thin it could be an add-on or customization. During inserting a new menu item the Company chains could be deleted by accident. Or maybe it was renamed to Main property within a customization.

Can you ask someone in your company or your AX partner what happened?
