You can be missing some hotfix for AX: designer was updated with binary update, but AX database is missing a field RETAILBUTTONGRIDBUTTONS.ENABLECUSTOMFONTFORMPOS that is expected by Designer.

You can try this hotfix - LCS returned me this KB, when I entered EnableCustomFontForMPOS text in the search
