Realtime marketing : trigger event check in on type of event not possible?

Dear community,

I'm trying to create a journey to send mails & sms on event check in trigger (default trigger is "Marketing event check in").

However, I have different type of event with my customers and I don't want those notifications to be sent to any event.

So I would like to filter on "event type=XXX" but there is no way I can find the relation to the table event in here.

Are you facing the same limitation?

thank you

    Dear Shankar,

Indeed, it now works, so you were right.

I have no idea why my first tests where not working, probably a different issue and then I was on the wrong lead.

Anyway, thanks a lot for being patient and helping !

    Good day

    Victor

All right ! I will try again then, but last time it did not work, maybe another issue was there. I'll keep you posted. Really appreciate your help !

I see that there is a confusion on what the brackets are communicating.

I think you see that it says Marketing Event Reference (Marketing Event Reference, msdynmkt_eventid) and are thinking that  the msdynmkt_eventid is the name of a table when it is actually the name of the field on the trigger. If you choose Marketing Event Reference as I described, then all the field choices listed will show the field name as well as their logical name (msevtmgt_*)

We looked at the requestparameter record backing the marketing event check-in trigger for the field Marketing Event Reference and I can see under logicalentityname it is pointing to the msevtmgt_event table as you want (see below)

    Hello Shankar,

I did found out this solution before but it makes a connection to a "marketing event reference" entity (msdynmkt_eventid) that seems to be NOT the event regular entity (that is msevtmgt_event) that contains the "Event type" property I want to filter on. It is a different table, hence I tried but it did not work. I also double checked in dataverse the table names.

That's a shame, see below in outbound marketing, it is so simple to connect the right tables to each others...

anyway, thanks for helping ! really appreciate.

    Hi Victor -

Apologies on not understanding your requirement the first time.

What you are looking for is possible as well.

I recreated the steps and I was able to filter the trigger condition by type. Please see below:

    1. Add the trigger to start your journey (Marketing Event Check-in) and then click on "+Add Condition" to reveal the list of attributes to select for the marketing event. Here, select the 'Marketing Event Reference' attribute (as shown below).
    Screenshot-2023_2D00_01_2D00_10-113314.jpg

    2. Once this is done, scroll down the list of the fields therein to select the "EventType field as shown below:
    Screenshot-2023_2D00_01_2D00_10-113354.jpg

    3. Once you do that, you can see the selection for the various event types that you have created in your system, as shown below:
    Screenshot-2023_2D00_01_2D00_10-113209.jpg

You can then select the one of interest for you and start your journey.

Hope this helps. Please do let me know if this is again not what you needed and we can talk through other options if any.

    Hi Shankar,

Thanks a lot for trying to help, I appreciate ! Unfortunately I don't want to filter on a specific event, I saw that was indeed possible.

I want to filter on all events where the condition is "event type= something".

That is something possible to go to this entity and see the related fields in outbound marketing, I don't find it in RealTIme Marketing.

    Hi Victor -

What you are trying to do is possible. There is a reference field to allow the user to selec the desired event that they want to run the journey on.

    See screenshots below:

    Screenshot-2023_2D00_01_2D00_09-093406.jpg

using the Marketing Event Check In Trigger, you can then select the first row in the attribute field dropdown and select the underlined condition.
This will change the UI to give you the ability to select the specific event taht you are looking to run the journey on, as shown below:
