A user is receiving this error when attempting to run various reports.

Sometimes he has no issues. Other times it will take 20+ attempts before the report will print.

Has anybody experienced this error? Does anyone know how to resolve it?

Open the report in VS. Build the report and check if you get any errors or not. To build the report you can use the shortcut key Ctrl+Shift +B. or under the Report. Mostly due to errors in expression the following error is received where the NAV editor does not compile for VS errors.

Try compiling both the data source of the report and report too.

This seems to be the issue with object metadata. Please recompile report and linked objects. Thanks

Sadly no. I believe it went away, or at least the client is no longer complaining about it. Many people suggested recompiling reports, but that did not work for us, nor did it make sense since the issue was limited to only one user on one machine. Other suggested it being an issues with printer drivers or the Windows installation and suggested reformatting the machine. Our client did not take these steps, so I do not know if it would have resolved the issue.

We are having the exact same issue, except on multiple machines across the entire plant, and also when connecting from other locations. We have already recompiled all reports and linked objects (as this happens on every report when you try to print), but no luck. We did notice that we do not seem to get the error when we are running NAV through a Remote Desktop Connection.
