Hello:
Does the ability to view purchase order versions allow inclusion of the modifiedby and modifieddatetime fields OOTB? If not, how invasive is it to add those fields?
Would anyone recommend change tracking as a preferred alternative to modifying PO versioning?
Thank you!
Hi Ichiban,
Is your definition of a purchase order version the same as a posted purchase order confirmation? If so, you might use the createdby and createddatetime fields. These are not enabled by default on the VendPurchOrderJour table. You can create a table extension and enable the properties for these fields. This is all you have to do to enable the storage for the user and date/time.
Hi Andre,
Thanks for the response.
Actually, I was referring to the menu under the All purchase orders or Purchase order details forms. Specifically at Manage > History > View purchase order versions. It appears to track field changes to the PO but unfortunately it doesn't tell us who and when it was modified. The form datasource looks like it uses a number of nested views, which is part of the reason I was also looking at Change tracking instead.
The option 'View purchase order versions' is based on the table VendPurchOrderJour as I mentioned above. You must create an extension to get the required details available.
